Ways To Benefit From An Auction Preview If You Can or Cannot Attend Yourself

Auction previews are becoming more and more of a popular concept for various online auctions – not just for real estate, but for heavy equipment, farm equipment, industrial machines, and SO much more. The idea of an auction preview benefits bidders greatly as they begin to explore the different items that are up for sale by an owner. But an auction preview doesn’t ONLY benefit bidders that are able to attend, but it also has benefits the bidder who can’t attend. Although we would always recommend to go to an auction preview if possible, if you cannot attend, here are some various ways that you can benefit from an auction preview.

If You Cannot Attend:

If you cannot attend the preview, don’t worry, you still can benefit! Although before you settle on not attending the auction preview, we would encourage you to first explore your options. Contact the seller or auction coordinator to see if you could arrange a private appointment that works within your schedule to go preview the items. If that doesn’t work, it’s a good idea to send someone on your behalf to preview the items without you. Make sure that you trust their judgement and that they know what you are looking to buy, but that is a great way to still benefit from a preview without needing to attend yourself.

auction previews save money

If You Can Attend:

If you CAN attend the auction preview, you also, as a bidder will experience a lot of extremely valuable insight and benefits before the auction! Attending the auction preview will allow you to see the full list of lots and items. Often various items can get lost in the cracks of an online auction because big ticket items take the stage; but if you can attend an auction preview, you might see a ton of valuable items that you could utilize that you otherwise would have missed out on! Another one of the main ways that bidders benefit from an auction preview is the simple fact that they even have the opportunity to inspect all the items. This is especially important and valuable when you are looking to make large purchases like construction equipment, industrial equipment, machinery, and more. Inspecting these items allows you to gain confidence in the purchase you are trying to make. Not only does the ability to inspect auction items give you buying confirmation on the things you are interested in, but it will also give you a more accurate ability to budget what you are willing and want to spend during the auction.

Benefits Of Auction Previews For Bidders Regardless of Attendance:

Regardless if you can or cannot attend an auction preview, there are various benefits that all bidders will experience, possibly without even realizing it! The seller is encouraged to have a sense of transparency about all the items that they are selling by having an open time for people to preview the auction. Not to mention the opportunity for potential buyers to meet with the seller, ask questions, and inquire as needed. That transparency carries over to the auction and will likely be reflected in the selling prices based on the condition of the items being sold. If you are a bidder who was NOT able to see the items before hand, you will still reap the benefits of true market value being displayed within the auction as a result of the preview regardless of if you know them to be true or not. These are just a few benefits that all buyers will experience, no matter if you can or cannot attend the preview.

As a bidder looking to utilize an online auction, there are tons of benefits that you can experience from an auction preview, if you attend, or don’t attend! Best Marketing Tactics to Promote Your Online Equipment Auction

Best Marketing Tactics to Promote Your Online Equipment Auction

If you are gearing up to have your first online equipment auction, you might be wondering how you can begin to market and promote your auction in order to get the most visitors and bidders to look at your equipment. If you are not immersed into the marketing world, it can be hard to shift your focus to the initial investment that is required in order to receive a better return in the long run. Marketing your auction well is so much more than just trying to get the most visitors to view your lots, it’s more about getting the RIGHT visitors to view your lots, place bids, and ultimately buy your items. Although all traffic is good and will undoubtedly help you in your marketing efforts, and SHOULD be taken into account – it’s important to recognize and set appropriate goals for what you are trying to accomplish as well as who you are trying to reach. For example, if most of your traffic for your upcoming farm equipment auction is created by stay-at-home moms, it’s unlikely that you are going to get the better results than if most of your traffic been from middle aged farm owners. So, in order to promote your online equipment auction the best way possible, we have put together five of the best marketing tactics for your equipment auctions to help you maximize your efforts and make sure that you are reaching the right audience.

When beginning the auction preparations,  it is important to know who your main, target audience will be. Are you trying to focus on other businesses? Or would an individual consumer be interested in buying your equipment? Is it more likely that a small business would be able to afford this asset? Or should your focus be more towards a larger corporation? Maybe it’s a combination of a few of those audiences, these are all things to take into consideration as you are learning and exploring your equipment value that will help you market your online auction to the right audience.

Secondly, taking good photos is a simple yet extremely effective way to maximize your marketing efforts for your online equipment auction. A well-lit, clear photo of your equipment goes a long way in showing your prospective bidders what they are looking at as well as persuading them to place a bid. Numerous studies have shown that imagery definitely affects the mindset of the bidder/user and allows them to imagine more realistically what it would be like to own such product. Good photos are another way to show transparency to your bidders – when the photos show clearly what the piece of equipment is and the state that the equipment is in, your bidders are going to know that there is nothing being “hidden” from them which in turn sparks an element of trust and relationship between buyer and seller. A well taken photo is one of the simplest ways that anyone can promote and market their auction well.

Now it’s time to start utilizing your marketing resources. One of the biggest, and best ways to get your auctions out to a wide audience is through the free resources called social media. Using social media to promote and market for your auctions is a little less about reaching the “right” audience, but more about reaching all the audiences – which might not always create the highest conversion rate, but ultimately will never hurt your auction promotion and marketing process. Creating Facebook events, sharing them on your company page, and personal page, and asking your current audience and employees to share the promotional posts helps you reach a huge audience of people who might know other people who might be interested. Social media tends to just be about getting your content in front of as many people as possible, which will no doubt help you start to get some more of the right people seeing your upcoming auction. Utilize Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Craigslist (not free but a small fee) and other online facets that will get your auction information and photos out to the maximum amount of people possible.

Another way to market your auctions well is to consider investing in paid advertising. Paid advertising is an incredible way to target specific audiences based on their likes, dislikes, and interests to get your auction in front of the people most likely to be interested in buying your equipment. Facebook, Google, Instagram, and LinkedIn are all platforms that offer various paid advertising options that are a great way for you to invest in your auction sale in order to have the best auction results. There is an element of investing according to the value of what you are trying to sell. For example, if you are selling three pieces of equipment that are all worth $5,000 you would expect to end the auction with about $15,000. In this case, investing a couple hundred dollars into paid advertising is going to be more than worth it – that extra few hundred dollars will allow you to specifically target your audience with more precision, which will get your online equipment auction in front of more people who are more serious about buying your equipment, driving the price up, and thus allowing you to take home more than the expected $15,000!

We’ve spent a lot of time talking about how you can digitally market for your auction, which is where most marketing takes place now a days – but don’t underestimate the ability of non “digital marketing” such as print marketing, network marketing, or even “brick and mortar marketing”. These various types of marketing can be EXTREMELY productive and valuable for your upcoming equipment auction. You can seek out similar businesses and let them know of your upcoming auction, you can print out flyers to put in your local hardware store or any other place that has a lot of foot traffic from people who might be more likely to buy your equipment. You can simply network, it’s all about going to hang out and meet your target audience where they are – that could be going there physically or simply getting the right flyer in front of them at the right time.

There are hundreds of approaches that you can take when it comes to marketing for your auction, these are just 5 proven marketing tactics that we know WORK! If you are getting ready to sell your equipment and are interested in partnering with Ranger bid, our team offers marketing package options that will take your marketing a step further. Contact us today for more info!

How To Liquidate My Business

How To Liquidate My Business

Making the Business Liquidation Process as Easy as it Can Be For You And Your Company...

If the time has come to close down your business and liquidate your assets, you might feel completely overwhelmed by the task ahead of you. We understand that the process can seem difficult and challenging – and how important it is to know your process before starting into the liquidation. We want to help you make the process as easy as it can be during this time of adjustment and change.

The first thing you need to do is make a list of all the assets you can and will want to liquidate. This is important – think of anything that adds value to your business and write it down, remember you can always revise this list later. This list should include all business equipment such as printers, computers, phones, office furniture like desks, chairs, and tables, any company vehicles, equipment, real estate, and even things like your landlords security deposit, and prepaid insurance premiums. To keep yourself organized as well as make sure that you have each of your assets listed, make lists room by room, property by property, office by office, however you want to break it out. This will help make sure that you don’t miss any valuable items.

liquidate my business

After you have your list and are confident that you are not missing any of your assets that could add value to your company, it’s time to assign values to each item. This will just be a ball park of what each thing is worth based on how old it is, the amount of wear and tear that it has as well as the demand. This will help you decipher your potential buyers as well as help you get the most out of your items. Assigning a realistic value to your assets will release the pressure of someone that will try to lowball your items.

Next, it will be time to look into various refund and return options. Although this is can be an unlikely possibility, it’s absolutely possible that certain assets that you have might still have a refund or return option – and it’s 100% worth a look. This does not only apply with your assets, but this would also be the time to check into getting your security deposit back if you rent a building to do business.

Find prospect buyers based on what items you will be selling. This can be challenging for many business owners, but the next step will be to find and contact prospect buyers for your assets. It’s good to be up front about how much you feel your items are worth and what you’d like to get for them. These might be people that you’ve done business with previously or just a connection you might have. Just remember that as a business owner it’s your responsibility to get the most out of your business liquidation items for your creditors.

Lastly, get professional help or advice. We would suggest that you do NOT start any of the above process without at least going through a consultation with a professional who is seasoned in the area of liquidation and closing businesses. If reading this blog stresses you out even more than you were before, you might want to explore the option of handing the entire process over to a trusted local company in exchange for a percent of the profit, this will leave you with the most simple and stress free process possible.
